Make sure to have 'toggle edit mode' selected, or just hit the space bar, so you can place notes. It will be red when it's on.

Sometimes I could only have access to FamiTracker on computers without a numpad at all, so I have to reassign these hotkeys to the right hand side of the character keys. Go to previous/next frame: Alt + Up, Alt + Down. Move one step up/down: Ctrl + Up, Ctrl + Down.

To get it to load correctly in Famitracker, you have to put the second note on a different channel. By default all the notes will be on channel 1. Select all the notes you want to switch channels. (I like to put bass notes in the triangle channel, because it can go an octave lower than the square channel.) gianne shah
