WebFeb 4, 2006 · Posted February 4, 2006. I got "bear bit" right in the pocket book for a 3/4 ton pickup with a gooseneck and "a few too many bales". What we are able to haul legally is a 4 foot wide 54" tall roll, 2 wide 2 high, on a standard height flatbed trailer. The above photo is legal, below is "pushing your luck". WebMar 4, 2012 · When hauling 4x5 round bales or 4x4 squares it's nice to have that extra few inches on either side to be able to get straps in and out. Although I will say things don't go perfect and you end up with some still sticking above the rail. The way I've figured the hay I've hauled this year I should have never been over weight.
